All About Pocket Knives

I picked this one up recently. It's quite interesting to me, as I have never seen an arched Camillus stamp before.


The wood is quite nice, Rosewood I think. The knife snaps great, the only issue is the blades aren't in that nice of shape. Still an excellent piece IMO.

I think that's a beauty of a knife. I think that's the first curved Camillus stamp I've seen too.

....beautiful, glenn!!..I've got several with that stamp, but not a whittler, closest thing I've got is a tuxedo knife with the same handles, both blades arched stamped!!!....if you ever decide to part with it, please let me know!!!........... ..............

Are the tang stamps all the same or are they different?
That plays into the dating.

Great find, somewhere around WWI, maybe older depending on the stamps.

.....glenn, if I'm reading correctly, that dates it from 1902-1915(goin's).....same as my tuxedo knife, which also has the same bar shield!!................. ..........................

Cool old swell center whittler Glenn ... somebody used that with pride... great find... Nothing like ol' knives

..........glenn, is the closed length on your knife 3 7/16"??......if it is, it appears to be the same frame as my tuxedo knife??...the ends of the shield on my knife appear to be more squared off, and of course, mine only has a single backspring.................. ...................

Glenn do you still have this knife ? If so am curious about the length overall closed . Is it 3 5/8 inches ?
The stamp dates of early 1900 and that frame leads me to believe it to be the earliest pre 72 model ,way before they put model numbers on the pile side tang .
That’s a beautiful piece of Camillus history there . Really glad you old timers are here on the forum and shared pics and info over the years . It makes digging into these old posts very interesting ,especially the pics and knowledge some bring here to our specific areas of interest.
