Anyone with ideas please enlighten me. What does the handle symbol(Fleur Di Lis) represent in this instance?

I picture the fat guard on Hogen's Heros saying DES means (in fakey German accent) "Diss Ese Sssharp". I could be wrong.___Dave

From the blade side of guard to top of pommel is 4 1/4 inches, the blade is 5 3/8 inch from guard to tip, blade at widest point is a bit over 1 inch, blade has been ground from 3/8 inch stock.
Evert's is a very highly regarded maker. The blade needs to be tightened to handle as the gardener I got it from was using it to weed dandelions. Look closely at an enlargement and you will see the longitudinal striation on blade from being pushed into and removed from the ground while weeding. Sad the way some people treat tools. When it rolls around in my mind again I will take and post some photo's of a post war Fairbairn Sykes Commando knife that I found at the same place. It is unique as it has a copper handle.

Could be a Scout knife - they use the FDL symbol universally. OH
