All About Pocket Knives

That's what my wife calls it anyway. I have to admit it's a little unusual.

G-10 scales on S35V ss, 8.25" oal, the hollow ground cutting edge is 3.25". It has a tapered tang with rust colored liners. I left a "choke up" choil for control on those up close and personal areas while skinning.

I have two others to put handles on but a dentist appointment is hampering progress. Feedback welcome and appreciated.

Has a bit of a modified Nessmuck profile to the blade. I like it. A lot.

I think of these stock removal blades I've been making here lately this one is my favorite. When you set out grinding a particular pattern it doesn't always turn out like you planned. In this case the small change I had to make was for the better.

Thanks Wayne! It took an edge well, I'm going to cut a bunch of stuff tomorrow to knock the edge back and sharpen it up again. It's taking me Elk hunting next month!

I don't hunt, but if I had to skin some game I'd reach for that knife. Very well put together.

Thanks SMT! October 10th is opening day........or any 5 of the following days will do, some of us will fill out no doubt. I think there will be 10 or 15 knives there from various makers for field testing. It's going to be great!

Here's a picture from last years hunt. I think I spent more on knives than than hunt itself, I now own three of those in that picture. Rick Meneffe made the majority of those knives. Yep, he was there.

I sure like your new Whale Nose Skinner - looks like it fits right between a Buck 103 Skinner (pretty straight spine) and the old Herter's Crooked Knife Skinner (pretty extreme on the curve). OH

Folk's do not realize what a plus that choke up can be while you
are doing them extra fine cutting tasks, a real bonus for sure

I must agree with you that hunting trips can be some pretty good times! I too haven't missed a big game hunt for the last 30 years, and more times than not it was a great "camp trip".
