One of my own...........

I've seen some mighty fine fixed blades here and a lot of good ideas for patterns!
This one is Palm wood on a 7" skinner. The S30V stainless steel blade has a 3" cutting edge, my treble clef makers mark is a little to large (I need a smaller stencil) it has a tapered tang with black liners, stainless steel pins and lanyard hole. The spine has lightly rounded edges.

Dale, that palm wood is hard as heck, I never would have thought it. It's another piece of wood I picked up from Hukk some years ago. I like it, it worked up well and it's tough as nails!

Phil, it has a couple of minor "character" flaws (like the maker) but I would be glad to send it to ya for inspection and a run around the block.

I like the makers mark myself Gary...looks great...
thats a skinnin machine by the looks of the pattern...
love the recess for index finger, as if you were choked up on the choil of the knife,
I feel from using similar designs that gives you more control for fine cutting chores
Putting you up in rareified air, kinda looks like cross between Loveless and Moran pattern I have seen, nice

Thanks Will! It's kinda of an overgrown neck knife inspired by one of Murray Carters patterns. I widened and lengthened the blade out and kept the same general handle pattern because of it's comfort and control. I'm calling it a skinner because that's my intended use for it this fall!

A very nice looking knife, Gary. It looks like it would be a fit for almost anybody's hand.
Love that tapered tang.

Thanks Joe. It's a very comfortable knife, I can't wait to use this pattern out in the field, that's where the rubber meets the road............
I'm going to try to take those tangs down even narrower. It's a little tricky up at the top of the taper when trying to fit your handle material. It sure helps reduce the weight on the bottom end though.
