Well it's been a long time in coming and we are happy to announce that we are having a new knife made for us that will be for sale. Here is the announcement:

The team at JBF Champlin & Sons Cutlery are very excited to announce the next release in our
ongoing series of Champlin knives. This will be a short run of 25, all hand crafted and produced
in collaboration with the talented custom knife maker, Evan Nicolaides from Sarasota Florida.
Evan has designed these “Stepped Barlows” with a single clip blade made of CPM 154 Stainless steel
and marked with the “Electric Cutlery” trade mark. And yes, the chamfered handles will be
crafted from the historic rosewood that was harvested from the old Cattaraugus factory
building in Little Valley, NY.
They will be 3.5 inches long when closed
Interested in seeing a picture of Evan's gorgeous prototype?
Please visit: http://www.jbfchamplin.com/?page_id=235 to check out the photos, and if so moved, place
your order with Michael Losicco. These beautiful hand crafted knives will be available for $350 on a
“first come, first served basis”.
Included with each knife will be reproduction of one of JBF Champlin’s historical trade cards
along with a signed certificate of authenticity.
If by chance you are unfamiliar with Evan's work, he has been a full time knife maker since April of this year and his new shop is
only 10 minutes from his home where he lives with his wife and two children. Evan is a self taught maker who has enjoyed a deep
appreciation for art his entire life. That appreciation certainly shows up in his work which you can review here, at
his online portfolio: http://esnyx.com

I have seen esnyx on another site, he does some clean mods also.
I saw his knives at the blade show in atlanta, didn't get to chat with him
unfortunately. Very nice knives were on his table he had made.
That is a great price for a full custom traditional, I am always watching others.
I will have to pass...again....now my wife's van has gone kaput.
Great looking knife though, I have my pictures (makes me feel like Patsy Cline)

Hi Dennis, I might have 1 or 2 of the finished knives with me that is if they don't sell. Right now 21 are taken and I have 2 guys letting me know after the weekend. If they are available will bring them with me.

Wow fantastic sales. Now that you've posted the sales numbers I bet the folks who've been on the fence will jump and the remaining will be gone by the end of the day.

Congratulations Mike,Evan is very talented, seems a natural. Not many makers can make an opposite end folder or multi blade,Evan has accomplished this in his infancy as a custom knife maker.

Glad you are doing this again, the knife seems a hit already.

Thanks Lyle, yes he is a very talented maker and we are so happy to be doing this again. Here are the first progress pictures. Can't believe the color of the handles!! We don't know what they will look like till they are cleaned off because they are almost black in color to start with because of sitting up there in the attic all those years gathering dirt etc!!

They're going to be some nice knives.

I've one of Evans's early modded knives (among a few others) he made for me with that sculpted bolster and he really has something going with those. They're just pretty cool to look at.

He's become quite talented in a relatively short period of time.

The new owners of these will be quite pleased I'm sure.
