Found this at local antique mall at lunch today, any info

Approximate age and value, model name and #?
Thanks so much!

Hey Jody , The knife is a "woodcraft" model and it was probably made in the late 1930's or early 1940's . It has been quite a while since I have bought or sold one of these , but I think that the value would be in the $200 -$300 range , but the box and compass would add considerable value (maybe as much as $100-$200) . Great find (especially the box) !

Great.
Now you need the proper Marbles waterproof match safe to complete the set.

It will look better once I get the green goo off it, looks
like it has been sheathed for a long time.

Real nice find !!!...my Uncle Al recieved a set like this long about 1960,,,
thats what took my fancy as a young lad to Marble's products...
What you have there is a post WW2 Christmas box gift set...
box looks real good and I would guess-ti-mate its value "empty"
at 150.00 to $250.00...
nice Woody to go along with the short tang coat compass...
get a Matchbox in there to complete set, you could be lookin at $650.00 - $750.00
for the whole set together...
I have 3-4 Matchboxes in my store, let me know if you are interested, maybe I
could give ya a deal on one to complete your set

When did they change the sheath to a plain one?

The sheaths were always plain from 1900 on till they went to the Moose & Goose Logo in the late 1950's
Early Tube sheaths had Cattails embossed into the leather, thats about it for sheath embellishment
