Dang, second day in a row someone is running loose with gasoline and matches! Take care Bug!!

Ps I buy my Case pocketknives in person, so I can test the snap and rub of each blade before I buy. But to be honest I do the same thing with Buck Knives too. I haven't done it with GEC cause no one remotely close stocks them - of ten (I think) GEC knives I now own, two are so hard to open I cannot do it reliably - the rest are perfect. On the other hand with Case I find some to be too soft (the new ones are never too hard to open like the old ones can be). Everyone has their own sweet spot, testing in person is best.

When another company makes better knives, for less money and an all-inclusive, lifetime, transferable warranty (which Case is not, regardless of your opinion on whether it "should" be) I guess I'll continue to buy 'em. I think there's stuff here we don't know, yet.

JB - I have kind of followed your posts about this issue in this thread and the Case letter thread. I just want to let you know that I would fight for your right to denigrate Case and to use all upper case letters in your posts.

And I think you are wrong about both.

I don't own any of the newer CASE items, unless one counts the CASE/BOSE collaboration knives, so I can't speak to that collecting niche. I own a number of pre-1980, pre-1971, and earlier CASE knives, and I have been VERY happy. Searching for beauty and quality in slip-joint knives from many makers has led me further and further into earlier production, and this has proven very satisfactory for my own needs and desires. I recently sent a knife to CASE for repair, and I am also very happy with that result.

Case XX does suck at sending jobs overseas so foreign companies can make their products. Most other companies haven't been able to stay open or American made.

Yeah, I don't know how Case manages to stay in business like they do. I mean how bad can they suck?

Still making knives up there in Pennsylvania, and not letting all those poor Chinese slap then together for a fraction of the cost! And still making all those beautiful natural handle scales of jigged bone and stag. Why they are just absolutely subversive for not using more of the petro chemical synthetics that can be injection molded by the thousands for pennies on the dollar.

And worst of all, they still make those poor old fashioned blades of carbon steel!!! I can't guess what they are thinking. I sit here looking at the Case peanut in my and that has almost 20 years of use on it as a daily companion, doing all my twine cutting, mail opening, plastic blister package opening, and snack duty, and I just don't know how I've survived with such a sucky knife in my pocket everyday.

They are kinda like harley davidson to me.
Overpriced, different handles (paint) is considered
a new model, etc..
I do enjoy my sway back jack, carry and use it often!
Even got my maternal granddads stockman put up.
Hit or miss now with them I guess
