A Vintage Suit for an 8OT

Bob (just bob) and I trade parts knives back and forth all the time. He saves me his Schrade and Camillus parts knives and I save him my Case parts knives. I don’t know how he feels about the trades, but it seems to me I always get a better deal than he does, but if he is happy I am ecstatic! ::nod::

Among the parts that he sent me this time was a nice set of bone handles for an 8OT. From the looks of this I would suspect it came from some of the first generation of the 8OT, circa 1960. While the handles had a crack or two, I thought they were still worth putting on a knife, so I did it. Another crack appeared through the rocker pen on the pile side handle but it was pretty easy to stabilize with CA. ::facepalm::

So now I have a newer 8OT that was unused and unsharpened with an old bone handle. I must say this older saw cut bone is really pretty stuff! I hope you enjoy the pictures.

I'm so glad those parts go to you Dale. It is good to se things from the scrap heap and put back to use. If they stayed here they would only draw rust. Great job on that knife. I'm still working on the folding hunter. I just bought 3 Snapper riding mowers to try and make 1 out of and that project has taken preference. I either need to get 1 going or buy goats.

Hey Bob, goat on a rope! That's the way my Pa used to clean out fence rows or thickets. Plus come fall you get to eat the goat!
