All About Pocket Knives

Hi everyone,

I thought I posted this in another topic but I can't find it, anyway, I have a Case 5172 SSP 3dot Blue Scroll knife that has a B on the handle, being really new at this stuff I have no idea what that B means, anyone know? It looks like it has been inked somehow and is under the finish.

I sure would appreciate any info someone could pass along.

Thanks, I thought I did, I probably just didnt wait long enough for it to post. I guess this would detract from the value of the knife? If so, you think it would be significant?

could be carefully removed. yes, i think it detracts from it's value.

Shoot, i wouldnt know how to go about removing it, when you look at it under a loupe its sure ookes like the ink is covered by the finish on the knife if what i'm seeing is indeed a finish.

It would probably cost you 20% in value. But be very careful messing with it, as if you take off that top layer of stag it will be a different color than the rest of the slab.

Thanks Mike, My brother has a wild imagination and thought maybe it was a maker's mark since it was handcrafted, I told him I thought someone ignorantly put that mark there. The only reason I thought maybe he could be right is that it sure looks like it is under the finish when you look at it through a loupe.
