All About Pocket Knives

My father in-law recently asked me about this Bayonet. He's in his mid 60's and said that he found it in the woods as a kid. The handle was a mess so he improvised with the handle covers. He would really like to get some original covers and screws.

Most of all he would like to know some history on the knife. I know less than nothing about military weapons

So if anyone could enlighten me on the usual: Maker, Date Range, Country of use, etc......

Also if anyone has or knows where to get the handle covers and screws I/He would really appreciate it.

The "broad arrow" in the bottom picture makes me think British.


Edit: This is the Pattern 1907 bayonet, widely recognized as the bayonet used with the SMLE in both World Wars. From what I can see of your pictures, it looks like a match.

I took the pictures with my cell so I wasn't able to get the full length shot that was worth posting. However, it's full length and in pretty good shape except for the covers.
No comments plz.

Orange Australia is about 120 miles from where I live .I did not know they made knives there in WW2.There is another town near there called Lithgow that has a small arms factory and made guns for the armed forces.They could be making knives.
