2006 Great Eastern Cutlery
Production Totals

The following list was just received from the factory and should be taken as the final tally of the Inaugural Issue of knives.

Anyone fortunate enough to have these will be pleasantly surprised later on as the values increase. Not very many were produced , and all were serial numbered. If you do not have these on hand , there are a few still remaining...very few !!

Here goes.....

Northfield UN X LD

#73 Pioneer

Herringbone Walnut 163 pcs
Bark Moss Green 26 pcs
Burnt Stag 62 pcs

#23 Scout

Bark Moss Green 23 pcs
Brick Red Bone 26 pcs
Smooth Red Bone 20 pcs
Burnt Stag 175 pcs

Tidioute Cutlery

#73 Pioneer

Bocote Wood 78 pcs
Chestnut Jig Bone 173 pcs

#23 Scout

Bocote Wood 81 pcs
Amber Diamond Back 110 pcs
Chocolate Bone 19 pcs
Primitive Bone 30

Great Eastern

#73 Pioneer

Rodgers Green Tea 75 pcs
Sheffield Tobacco 177 pcs

#23 Scout

Amber Horse Cut 83 pcs
Red Diamond Back 53 pcs
Smooth White Laser 81 pcs
Casien 10 pcs

........and there you have the final tally. A grand total of 1465 pieces in all three companies.

What will a complete set be worth in 10 years ????

Bill, Thanks for the list but just one guestion. I own four of the 2006 knives. Three I bought at the factory and another off e-bay. Three of these four have serial numbers that are higher than the number of that model porduced ::shrug:: ::shrug:: Iam confused, can you shed any light? Thank You, Mike

I believe they continued the numbering process through the whole pattern, rather than starting at 001 with each new handle material.

That is exactly what happened...a little confusing, but correct.

Sorry guys....could not read the fax from factory. I omitted the 2006 Primitive Bone total and have made the correction in the original post.

Thanks Bill for all the work you've put into this! I could imagine things were a little frantic at times ::paranoid:: . What is Casien? I don't recall seeing that one at all, although with that limited production, I could imagine how many actually made it to the dealers :D

Casein is a dairy byproduct that has been used in a manner similar to corolon, to sort of replace celluloid. But I personally have never seen it on the GEC knives. Maybe someone will have a pic for us? ::shrug::

It is indeed a dairy by-product and Casein is actually from " milk curds " ..not turds !! It is very stable and will not spontaeneously (sp) explode the way Richard Pryor did. It does not have the celluloid characteristics.

These 10 pieces will only be available at the GEC open house...gotta travel to Titusville to get one. I would imagine these will go for about $120.00 at the open house and then skyrocket after that ......if any one wants to sell theirs.

Well, I just picked up my last one on the list last night on eBay except the Casein, I got a 1 of 19 Chocolate Bone. ::ds:: Kinda figured there would be a snipe attemp. Yup, I was right cost me $177.50, but if I'm are at the end of the list, of course I will bid to win. Just knew going cheap on that wasn't going to cut it. ::tu::

Just on that list except Casein, I figure most from the GEC open house will either try sell them for 2x or more, there's only 10.

I hope to have it soon, it was pricey on eBay last night but should be mailed soon. I should be able to take pictures of the whole set except the one at the open house, the Casein. That will be almost impossible to get.

A picture of the whole set would be very, very cool to say nothing of very, very impressive!

To say nothing of someday very, very valuable.

Kudos, Hukk, kudos! Smart knife buying. Wish I had the foresight and funds!

I can't wait to see if anybody around here ends up with one of those Casien GECs. The GEC Holy Grail, if you will!
