Somebody needs to rescue this knife and do a proper restoration and rehandle job on it.
Got to be a rare pattern, but the celluloid is going bad.

Case is not my bailiwick, so is this really a Case Tested XX? or is it a Case Classic going bad?

I wonder if that is one of those German made Case knives that Parker had done up in the 1980's? I have a small one armed man's knife made by United(Boker) Cutlery in Germany that has identical scales and they started degrading almost from the day I bought it.

Not a Case...Not a Case Classic...a total miserable fake.

Case cotton samplers are a fakers favorite. Here are three recent miserable fakes that sold on eBay for a grand total of $1764.06 plus shipping. That's a lot of cash to be spent on recently mocked up counterfeits. With prices like that no wonder we are seeing these on the market. Unlike the Tested OP knife these three happen to have fake W.R. Case and Sons stamps. SAD!
Looks like the blades may all be from the same source.

Quite alright by me Charlie. You questioned it from the start.
That's the great thing about AAPK. So many people with such wide ranged and or specific knowledge. I know I can come here if I need a answer on Case, Schrade, Robeson, Remington, Buck, new or old, you name it. Not too many posts go by without a good final answer and if they do it often means there isn't a good final answer available here or elsewhere.
