That DNA thing.

Here are two knives, Case related, that have remarkable similarities. They have nicely fitted stag, are identical in length, and have a swayback configuration. There are just as many differences also. Bolsters and shield, and one is stamped Case Bros Little Valley NY, and the other, CaseMfgCo Smethport Pa. (Are you here, PA?)
Tony Foster has seen one other Smethport knife I believe. If anyone knows anything, please post!

Smethport has been on my MUST have list for years. If you ever sell it. CALL me first.
Now, remember that Case Bros bought the Smethport plant. the split up the materials among all the family members.
Case MFG was run by JDC out of Kane. He had them in Warren, PA and Little Valley NY.
Brad's book on the CASE DYNASTY gives great detail as to the process. It makes perfect sense for these two to look so much alike.
CASE MFG was only done in 1911. JDC sold out

That is some beautiful stag on the top knife. Do you have picture of the back side?

PA, I'm on the trail of that knife. I don't own it - - - yet!
knife-nut, the stag is as nice on the back, but I don't have a pic; maybe someday soon!
