All About Pocket Knives

I think we will call this one "The Sibling Rivalry Peanut", because I'm afraid it may cause one. The initials are Robert Justin Jones my 5 year old and William Joshua Jones my 1 1/2 year old. It is a 3220 peanut that has been rehandled and set with German Silver and Copper end pieces, the lettering is bronze. The blades have a black oxide treatment. All the work was hand done by Mike Pardue. A fine engraver and a friend of mine. I can see this one getting some pocket time just to show it off.

Quite unique. I wish I could see it in person. The black blades are especially interresting to me. I'd like to see how that is done. Are they chrome vanadium? Did he just put a heavy patina on them?

The blades are CV and they are blacked with whatever process Mike Pardue uses to treat his steel belt buckles. I think it almost the same process as gun blueing. Mike has a knife on Ebay that he actually used this process on steel for the handle. Custom Moore Maker I will try to get Mike to come here and educate us about the process.
