Surgery on April 27th 2015

Would ask if I could have a few pray for me as I enter the hospital on 4/27 for a full right knees replacement. asking that God would guide the hands of the surgeon and that the outcome of healing and recovery would be swift and without complication.
Also that God would comfort my elderly mother who relies on me and our companionship. She is very afraid of this and is worried about my safety and for continued strength and peace for my wife she has so much on her plate as it is.
I appreciate the folks here and have come to think of each member as a part of my extended family. If you would add me to your church family's prayer list I would be so grateful. God bless and thank you for all you have done and continue to do. ::handshake::

Squirrel. Have faith in your sturgeons. Everthin' gonna be alright. My next door neighbor was in her early 90s when she had her knee replacement surgery. She came through it just fine and so will you.

I put you on my prayer list Rocky & will add you to our church's prayer list.

As you probably know it is a pretty common surgery and they are pretty routine these days. Just be sure you do all the physical therapy they give you!!! You will regret it if you don't.
I am sure you will enjoy your new knee. After I got my left knee done I was able to get rid of the cane I used for 10+ years.
I need to have the right knee done before it gets as bad as the left was.

Thank you Dale and Colonel.

Dale depending on my recovery about 1-2 months post this surgery I will have a full replacement on the left knee. God willing I will be good to go for whatever comes down the pike. The last surgery on my left knee was a bust and was a different Doctor. I've "hired" the best this go round and he will be using some kind of robotic arm to aid him in surgery.

We'll certainly remember you in our prayers for a quick, speedy recovery, that your mother will have peace about all that's going on and that your wife will have the strength to keep things going till you're up and around.

Day 1 status post surgery. Had the full knee replacement of the right knee. Had the spinal and femoral block and man when that wore off you knew you had had a knee replaced. God has been good and I have been up walking the halls with a walker and doing very well all in all. According to Dr. Miller if I continue to do well in my recovery I can have the left knee replace in about a month and a half. I look forward to getting back to my normal activity. Thank you all for your prayers God has been merciful, loving and kind. All in all I feel great and look forward to the days ahead. ::handshake:: ::tu:: y

Squirrel, a good friend is in his early 80s now but several years ago (I think 6 or 7) he had both knees replaced at the same time. Told me that was one of the best decisions he's made in his life.

Sure. Now I tell ya.

Do your PT and soon you'll be running marathons. Can Do.

Rocky,
Glad you're doing well! It is so amazing what God has allowed the medical people to do with these old worn out bodies in the way of repair and replacement. The therapy is, as you know, critical to a successful joint replacement, it'll get better quickly!
You're still in our prayers my friend. ::handshake::

Hey Rocky, my mother had her left knee replaced Jan. 28 of this year. Right knee replaced last year. Rehab is the key. Do everything you're supposed to do, when you're supposed to.

Glad you are doing good. I'm still praying.

It has become painfully obvious to me that I will need to have my right knee done this year.
Hope I can make it through fishing season first.

Up date:

48 hrs out from surgery. Running a fever but the more fluid I can drink the better that gets. Physical therapy came today and put me through my paces...no pain no gain. I must admit, the more stretching and ROM the better my leg feels overall. I am amazed at the size of my leg with the swelling. All in all, I'm learning a lot about myself and what to expect when I have the left knee done in a few months. What I am reminded about the most is that God is faithful and answers prayer. My heart filled thanks goes out to all who have and continued to pray for me and my family. I pray that God will give special blessings to my little wife, she has been there in every way one could hope for. I am so blessed to have her in my life and for the unwavering love, strength and encouragements she gives me at every turn. ::tu::
