Pair of 79's

Picked these up over the weekend and was told they came from an estate in Michigan. I knew I had never seen other knives like this but didn't think much more about it. The machine jigging like this is something I have never seen on a Case knife, but I'm not a expert on any aspect of Case knives. The knife on the right has a file and is stamped on the tang A / 79 F. The other knife has a pen blade and an easy open on the back and is stamped B / M279 SS. Both of the blades are set low in the frames. I can see one knife has at least 1 dot under the USA. I can't tell for certain how many dots it has or if the other knife has any dots at all. When I first looked at these I assumed the A stood for Aluminum and the handle material was aluminum alloy like on the other 79 patterns. I wonder as the other knife has a B if these were not prototype knives that were never put into by Case? I'd appreciate any information on these. I've looked in Steve's book, on ebay, and the Google images and don't see any other 79's like these.
