After seeing some of the electricians knife conversions posted here, I decided I'd try my hand at it. I bought this one off e-bay and it arrived today. I tried to open the main blade and it was impossible. The screwdriver blade was somewhat easier, but still almost took a screwdriver in the slot to open it. Upon closer examination, I discovered the problem. Take a look. Either the pivot pin was drilled out of alignment in the bolsters or it has been damaged some way. Both blades are pristine, with absolutely no marks whatsoever. So....what'd ya' think? Think if I disassembled it and did the one blade thing it would work O.K.? Or is it just basically a user for parts, blade, etc?

I'd say go ahead and go for it, could be a warped or bent pivot pin too.

Agree with MM; it has been tweeked at some point in time. Some pressure to straighten it up might work; or new pins instead of taking it down to one blade. You can see the liners / covers or out of square too.
