I recieved this old military knife from a friend. It's already been redone once. It has U.S.N. engraved on the left side and on the other, PAL in a horizontal oval with RH on the left and 35 on the right of the symbol. Below PAL is of course MADE IN USA. If anyone knows anything about this knife please let me know.

Hi Kave;
You have just about said it all. It is a WW II knife came first with a leather sheath, later replaced with a hard plastic one. Actually the knife looks rather original. Some of them were produced with wooden pommels. As I read the article this particular knife is military. Possibly of mark 1 design. They are still available in mint condition in the wrapper.
Pal was given a contract for 140,000 of them in 1942-1943.
