Hello AAPK - First time here. I was wondering if anybody knew when Case stopped producing their marlin spike's?

Thanks for the info - I ran across a site advertising them, as if it was a current product, but when I tried to order one they said they didn't have any 'currently in stock'. I was pretty sure they weren't being made anymore. They finally removed it from there page.

A little history - the original 6246 was made from the Tested era until about 1978 when it was discontinued.

At some point after that Case contracted with Camillus to produce a slightly different marlin spike pattern, one with a locking marlin spike. This was discontinued in the early 80's.

Then in recent years - I forget whether it was the late 90's or after 2000, Case again had Camillus make the locking marlin spike model. This continued for a few years and then it was discontinued again.

Ok - that makes sense. I wasn't aware of Camillus being contracted to make Case's rigging knives - intresting. It must have been a very limited production? I can still find most of the yellow handle patterns and work knives produced in the 90's for sale at various places, but haven't come across one of the marlins.

quick correction to my last post: meant to say I'm finding most of the yellow patterns and workers from early 2000.
