Here's mine!
The french Douk-Douk, masterpiece of quality and design, still in production since 1927. ::tu::
This is the one that started it all for me.

Nice knife. I've never seen one before. Where do they sell them? I can't remember what knife I liked first. Too many years ago.

I like those old style knives. ::tu:: The blade shape is different but it reminds me of a German made Mercator.

Here is the best "Short" history for the Douk Douk, that I've come across.....

The only other similar handle type I have come across is the japanese Higo No Kami.
The Douk-Douk blade pattern is about as UNUSUAL as one of the Jim Bowie Eye Brand single-blade folders. Anyone know anything about those?

Redferd, remembering is easy for me. Douk-Douk cast his spell only a year ago.
It may have been the very same story that El Lobo posted which hooked me. I bought my first douk-douk from Garrett Wade.
BTW, my knife education has been, for the most part, Google based.

Gunsmoke, I didn't say "first and last, one and only, your reason-for-living love".
I'm surprised you didn't also mention walk and talk, and sharpness.
I suppose, like redferd, you just can't remember!
This post may well turn out to be like a family album.
Somebody might even post their vintage Chevy or their dog. ::tu::
Come to think of it, this post DOES seem like a tall order. ::dang::
How about the first significant knife you REMEMBER! (excluding razors and scalpels)
Anyway, this is just an excuse for seeing some pictures of great knives. ::tu:: (and maybe other things if you like) ::shrug::

And Gunsmoke, please give my best regards to our new AAPK Forum member.

The vert first knife I remember buying for myself was a Wenger Adirondack model SAK.

Even though I have a lot of Victorinox's now, I still wish I had kept that one.

A little schrade old timer linerlock, got it when I was about 5 or 6, still have it. It went everywhere with me, and still does occasionally. Primarily used for fishing, it has been on every creek and pond in this area, dropped it in a pond oneday andwent after it, still has a few spiderweb pits on the blade to prove it. one of my all time favorite knives. I'll snap a pic later

My first knife had a pen & clip blades. My dad gave it to me when he bought a new knife. I was about 5 years old. I also remember breaking the pen blade and saving the broken piece in a '56 Dodge piggy bank that my dad got at the Dodge dealership where he worked.
I was devastated that I had broken the blade, especially because my dad had given it to me. Maybe that is why I treasure the many knives he has given me since then.

My first knife was an Italian automatic, a Rizzuto. It is still around here somewhere, and is at least 45 years old.

Hey Edge, she walks, she talks a lot, and can be very sharp at any given moment! But she has put up with me and all my whimseys for 29 years so she is my first and true love. As for my first love knife.... I sold it a few years back. ::tear:: It was a 1974 Case bone Stockman. Wern't no such a thing as digital camaras when I sold it so I don't even have a picture of it but it was a beaut in my eyes. It was one of many I sold to acquire a nice Case stag collection, but if I had it to do over again, I would not have sold 3/4 of the ones I did for any reason! Live and learn. ::dang::

Ken, she has bought me 1 knife in our marriage and I still have it. A Fight-n-Rooster...... (Note to self).. Never sell that one for any reason! ::doh:: ::doh::   Kelley
