That's a fine looking condor! I guess on e of the things I appreciate about the condor knives is that they seem very no nonsense. They just look like a stout, using, get er done kind of knife. There's a beauty in that.

I have a Condor and love it!
Great bang for the buck though they seem to have gone up a lot in price.
I have the Jungle Bowie with the early blue one-piece plastic handle.
IIRC I paid less than $30 for mine about 5-6 years ago. I see on their website it sells for $49.95 now.
That is still a great buy in that knife.

I notice one of the guys on Dual Survival carries a Condor Primitive Bush Knife.
He does every thing from cutting poles to skinning game to eat to making fire drills.
It is a versatile knife and he knows how to use it.

I always admire their knifing skills and like trying to figure out what they're using. Matt was using that Primitive Bush Knife last night but Joe was using some kind of tanto blade. Last year Joe designed and used a Tops SurvTac7 but had production yanked for some reason. I've been trying to get my hands on one.

If a person has the right skills they can make even a mediocre knife look great and some screwball can make a great knife look bad. It's talent not some super steel that makes a knife. Matt has excellent skills and has modded that Condor a good bit.

That's not Matt's exact knife. He uses a heavily modded older machete with blue plastic handles. Everyone loved his modded knife so well Condor has made this deluxe version of his mod. This knife looks fantastic. The sheath is worth the asking price. Thanks for the heads up.

Here's a couple pictures of the knife as received. Pretty hefty but not too big. 8" blade, about 13 1/4" overall. Seems to be well made and the sheath reminds me of an oversized Marble's tube.

What is the purpose of that hole in the blade ?

Not sure, they do that to their machete blades too. Maybe their signature? Bayonets have one for a wire cutter feature using a glass-reinforced scabbard.

I've always wondered about that hole too. How's the edge on it? Was it sharp out of the box?I love that sheath.

Pretty sharp, I think they call it a Scandinavian grind. But the top edge grind at the tip is not sharp but easily sharpened if you choose to do so. The sheath is pretty thick. BudK has 25% off right now. I've got a Condor Hudson Bay on order, their Bushcraft and Bushlore knives are really nice and affordable too.

Budk is sold out or was. I have their bushlore and kephart. I also ordered the bushlore blank they're offering now.

SOME USE IT TO MAKE THE KNIFE/MACHETTE INTO A "DRAW KNIFE"...I hav seen it with a makeshift wood handle and cordage......

I have heard the "To hang it up" theory but not the drawing knife. That's a good idea, very useful.

Nothing like a reliable, sturdy fixed blade knife for out in the wilds or anywhere a real knife is required. Folders are good for carving, letter opening, finger nail cleaning, UPS packages and cutting string for your child's kite............but when you step outdoors, have a good fixed blade knife (or two) around.
