All About Pocket Knives

Any of you guys ever use the Boker "Subcom" It is one of my favorite

little work knives, I like to keep it clipped in my right shirt pocket. Here

is a short description of the knife and some pictures of the different styles

Now and again you see a new knife that just strikes you as a home run and the new Subcom F from Boker's Magnum line is a hit out of the park. Designed by Chad Los Banos, from Hilo, Hawaii, this is a classic "big little knife." This frame lock is 2.75 x 1.5 inches closed and it will make a nice money clip for those so inclined. However, as small as it is, it's relatively wide handle provides a very secure grip, even with large hands. The deep finger recess and integral guard in the tang ensures you're not going to accidentally slip onto the blade. We also like that because of this deep recess, it is almost impossible to close the blade on your thumb when releasing the lock, all you do it trap your thumb with the tang, a nice safety advantage.

Hey...seen this yet?...the Subclaw coming soon...just saw it in the most recent Boker catalog...

WOW! Very Kool! Are they out now or is that just a Proto?

The Subclaw can be ordered out of their catalog or website...anywhere else I don't know.

Even that picture doesn't appear to be an actual one.

I may have to get one, I thought the Wharcom was cool (I like wharncliffs), but I think this ones even cooler (I really like hawkbills).

...maybe, one day, if I'm feeling "tactical"!

I have been considering getting a Wharcom for EDC.
Does anyone have that pattern & if so, how do you like it?

Dale; I EDC one five days a week at work. Like I said it's so thin I

keep it clipped in my right shirt pocket. Go ahead and get one, I promise

you won't be disappointed. It is really a very innovative knife, designed

by a Marshal Arts expert in Hawaii named Chad Los Banos.

I have talked with Chad in the Boker forum at BF, just not about that knife. I didn't understand that you had EDCed the Wharcom.

Dale; I rotate between the original Subcom, the Serrated and the

Wharcom. Of the three, the Wharcom works the best for all around

cutting tasks.

Perhaps you can tell us Witch blade you find works the best over all.

I have a hard time liking the serrated do to I think if I want to saw some thing I would get a saw. I know they are nice to cut rope but I seldom cut rope.

this little knife is often my EDC

I used to carry one as a money clip (The desert CE one). I also had a Wharcom, but didn't use it & sold it.

I've just bought my 3rd from Bokers Subcom series & think I'm going to keep it as a money clip. It's a Rescom. They're very handy. I really did't want another knife for a money clip, because I found that I'd grab one of other 2 or 3 knives I usually carry.

So, we'll see.
