All About Pocket Knives

I found this Old Timer at the antique store. It was in poor shape! It had the previous owners initials crudely scratched into the scale to the left of the "OLD TIMER" shield. The blades were badly scratched up and there were several other deep gouges on the bolsters and back of the knife.
I used wet or dry sandpaper and oil to get the scratches off the blades and a LOT of sanding and polishing to get the guys initials off the scale shown.

I thought it turned out pretty good for my first rescue attempt.

And Yes, I agree, Fixing up these older abused knives is ADDICTIVE... LOL.

I have one on my bench right now that has broken springs. That is a situation I want to tackle next!

I got a Old Timer 8OT off the Bay for $10 that had previous owner's initials engraved by a jeweler, one initial on top and bottom bolster. Knife was tight and blades were shiny and full, great user.
