Switch or a cam lock?

This knife looked interesting to me, it was made in Japan I have not received it yet. I don't know if it's a switch or cam lock? Has anyone seen one like this one?

It looks like what was called a "folding bowie". The pattern goes back to the mid 1800s, IIRC. The one I have in my shop, for restoration was made in Germany in the latter 1800s.

That particular knife only locks open, via a slot in the blade tang. The bolsters and liners are die cast zinc, and the handles are plastic.
