All About Pocket Knives

Here is 4 pictures of a BKC 149-A, a 4 7/8 inch lockback that was on my doorstep when I got home from the hospital yesterday. I had a lot of fun watching my son open this one. I believe this one was made in the 1991 to 1992 second generation. Real nice thick stag on this guy. Easy to call this guy near mint.

I also have two pictures of the original 4 1/4 inch lockback prototype set from 1993 that were featured on the 1993 catalog. Catalog and signed shipping invoice are included. All 5 have BULLDOG BRAND PROTO #2 in print engraved in the blade. Most, if not all have Rostfrei marked on the tang.

Ok, ok, ok already...I'll give you $135 for that stag lockback Those are some incredible knives my friend, keep on showing them beauty's...

I almost hated to post it after I saw you had it in your bidding software. But when I saw it on eBay, I knew only 100 were made and the stag I assumed was excllent, but another case of pictures not doing a knife justice in an auction. I made a fairly sustancial bid on the night before and wasn't aware of your interest. My PC with that software cashed, but I did rescue my data. I'm not going to do much with it one handed.

Ahhh heck there are always plenty of knives to be had...Friends on the other hand are not as abundant ...I'm glad you are showing the stag beauty..That just motivates me to find one in the future...

Ok the search is over (That was fast ) thanks to Olderdogs I am now the proud owner of a Bulldog Stag 149 lockback. A very fine specimen if I don't say so myself..

Just because we have 2 out of 3 lockbacks posted here let me finish up the entire set with this bone handled knife, the 149-B..

Did you get so HAPPY that you did not rub that 149-B completly clean ??

Absolutely and congratulations on that Bulldog. It sure has a unique locking mechanism, I like it!

Ahhh the pressure of these high standards Ken are unbearable... I don't know what that is on the bone handle, I assure you it's not dirt it was cleaned very thoroughly.. I am thinking its just where the some of the dye in the bone handle is fading away or was not properly dyed in the first place..

Sigh...Whew...Now I can relax since I explained that... Thanks Ken for your comments they are always appreciated..
