I was wondering if this was a Schrade made knife.
It has a pin in the bolster on the blade end where Schrade used the swindon system

The Buck 314 is the only Buck Trapper I know of that was built "in-house" by Buck. The others (older models such as the 311) were made under contract by Camillus and the current Buck 382 (and other 38* series) are/were made off-shore in China. OH

::dang:: I see the confusion, the seller actually believed Parker's certificate that came with the knife! ::rotflol::

Dale I knew the knife was not made by Schrade.
I looks like a Parker's certificate are the same as the cards you get out of a cornflakes cereal box, mass produced.

I think those COAs of Parker's were just Xeroxed copies, in fact I had some that were obviously copies.
When the Schrade auction knives were being sold by SMKW & Blue Ridge Knives I would often get more COAs in an order than I bought knives. Buy 3 knives and get 5 or 6 of Parker's COAs! ::dang::

I sent the seller a message suggesting that it was not made by Schrade.
This is h the answer I received:

This is a schrade bin knife. Period. just for the record camillus made all styles of buck knives before they went under in 2007. I HANDLED 1000'S FROM BOTH COMPANY'S. Thanks, gil

It seem this seller thinks he has all the knowledge for Schrade knives. He might be a go to person

I have asked one of the Administrators to remove the picture as the seller of the knife is complaining.Just click on the ebay link to see the knife.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BUCK-USA-314-FR ... 5b0c1e7ba6
When you click on the link you will have the picture on your computer without the seller permission and you will be invading his copyright.

Make sure after viewing the Ebay listing remove you computer history as you do not have his permission to have any of the pictures on your computer or show they to anyone.Even though they are a picture of a knife that was is made and sold by Buck. ::shrug::

Here is the definitive information on the Buck 312 and 314 (both made by Buck, for Buck, and sold by Buck - not Camillus or Schrade or the PRC). This info was found right here on AAPK; if it is written by 300Bucks concerning the Buck 300 series you can take it to the bank. OH
Ps A couple of pictures of two Buck produced pocketknives (note - not Schrade produced) - I downloaded them from another source for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks for the information and posting the pictures.
The seller has a signed piece of paper so he think he is right even after reading this topic.

The Bay (not Chesapeake) is full of jerks, fools, good guys who do not have the knowledge, and criminals. If a man wants to go bass fishing, he has to put up with mosquitoes, and sometimes water moccasins. I have tried to gently and cordially "educate" several sellers. They usually can't take it so I quit doing it. Caveat Emptor.

I made this post to see if a knife was right or wrong.
I use the answers as a future reference when purchasing knives and to increase my knowledge.
I do not like to make a statement about if someone is right or wrong.
But I will have to make a acception about this seller.
He it like ::dead_horse::

P.S.I hope he does not send any more messages.

With certain exceptions, which would rarely apply to any of us or to images on ebay, that whole copyright thing is pure bull. Even when it is real nobody is going to take you to court; it isn't worth it. Nobody is going to bully me. If someone puts something out on the internet and I want it I will take it and use it as I please. And I certainly am not afraid to post an offensive ebay listing on these forums.

In a similar vein, this picture of mine showed up in a post on another knife forum - I congratulated the poster on his "magnificent photo" - he thanked me, but informed the readership that he had downloaded it somewhere off the internet! I have recognized photo's I've seen here and on other forums that I also have seen on Bing pictures. Once you put a photo on the internet control over it is lost (someone should have told that to Anthony Weiner!) OH
