All About Pocket Knives

After making several aluminum handled folders I decided to make a brass handled folder. The blades were harvested from a vintage Imperial barlow. Sadly I neglected to take pics of cutting and drilling of the parts for this knife. But here she is! I think she turned out pretty good!
You fellas were right about this being addicting. I pulled this barlow out of my collection so I do this!

Thanks for all of the encouragement guys I really enjoy working with metal handles. I have some iron stock that I may try next. But first since I have a second Imperial barlow that I cam convert I'm considering making an aluminum twin to this one. I'm gonna have to start selling these things before I run out room to store em'

Do one with a spear or sheepfoot main blade
An old Ric-Nor Electric Mate shell would make a unique conversion as well ...... (hint) [/color]

Royal -- my Ric-Nor is a shell handle (I'm guessing yours is as well) so one of those would make a great blade/screwdriver blade donor.

Randy -- Do you have access to a milling machine? An integral liner/bolster knife in nickel silver would be neat. Put some Micarta® handles on that baby and oooh-eee. Keep it in mind.

Royal- Great idea. I need to look through my stash of knives and see if I have one. I know that I used to, but I think I sold it. I do have a bunch of tl-29 type electrician knives. I need to order more brass as well. I have a bunch of projects in my project bin, maybe 20 to 30 knives. Of course I never know how I want them to look until I start working on them. I start with one concept and by the time its done its morphed into something else!

Jerry, I love the idea of integral liner bolsters. Been trying to make a knife out of iron but I dont have access to a milling machine. The nickle-silver idea is awesome! I cant get a good clean demarcation at the bolster. I was trying to emulate the work found on the old Furness barlows that came out of Sheffield about 1900. I do have an idea though, it wont be a true one piece, but I think I can make one look as though it is. Need to give it some more thought. I do have a project laid out to do this weekend. Stay tuned!

I believe all the Ric-Nor knives are shells, which makes it a perfect donor for what Mr 'pan is doing
I've only seen barlow- style electricians by Ric and Colonial, both shell handled....
