All About Pocket Knives

I found this old girl and am happy to add it to my collection. If I have got it right, it's from 1946-1956. The main blades still have a lot of life in them, but the main has lost its snap. The scales are in pretty good shape, but I debating whether to keep this as an example...or to get someone who knows what they are doing to bring it back to life. cheers

It looks like both the front and back handles are cracked and shrinking. I would have it rehandled in a nice bone and drop it in my pocket. These knives are fairly plentiful and don't demand a lot of money. Here's one that I had rehandled. I paid $9.99 for this one.

What T.J. says is true BUT you hardly ever see that tang stamp.

From what I've seen, nearly all of these are No underline.

My Camillus Navy and Coast Guard General Utility Knife (short line tang stamp) By the way, Camillus made 2 piece can-opener from 1944 to 1948.

Vit, I don't know how you do it but you always have some very fine knives. Do you have spotters stationed around the world?
