All About Pocket Knives

A couple years ago Lyle (wlf) and I were talking on the phone and he mentioned he had an old Camillus trapper somewhere. He didn't know where it was at them, but he said he would find it.

I forgot all about the knife and even the conversation until it showed up in my mailbox.
I was ecstatic!
The red coloration on the bolsters indicate to me it may have been near a celluloid knife that was offgassing at some point in time, however that did clean off quite nicely. I have carried this knife most of the week and really like it! How can you not like a four-line Camillus with Rogers bone handles?

These are the pictures of the knife before I cleaned it. I had to take them indoors as it was raining.
Hopefully this week I can get some good pictures outdoors (if the weather will cooperate) of this knife since I've cleaned it, polished it and carried it for a week. The steel and this knife is outstanding and it holds an edge incredibly well!

Holy crap! A bone handle, four-line #29. (modern number. I doubt that was the number back then) It'll be a while before you see one of those again. Congratulations Dale and kudos Lyle.

.....dale, normally trappers don't excite me, but that one sure does!!!!................... .................

That trapper is great, Dale! I love how the bone is worn down almost smooth.

Wow, great looking old knife Dale! That honest pocket worn bone is really something, love that dogleg shape too. Is she 3 7/8" ? Outstanding pick up, that's a "show off knife" for sure there...

Pocket worn bone is outstanding but when Rogers bone it is the BEST!

Amazing! My dad gave my oldest boy a 29 with delrin a couple years ago. I fell in love with it and have been looking for one ever since. But 4 line in bone, that's a Grail knife!

Cuz, I've only seen two #29s on eBay since the 1st of November and I bought one of them. They don't come up often and they ain't cheap but as you know, they're a fantastic knife. Maybe try for a Camillus #35. Same knife only in yellow Delrin.

That knife laid under the bed for around two years. I had been searching for the 1902-1915 3 line arched stamp on both blds knives. Dale has one (we were going to trade ,if I could find one to replace his)and I had a search on eB for Camillus. This one showed up and I can't remember if I couldn't see the stamp or I just bid on it.

After I got it, and while I was looking at it ,I guess I fell asleep or forgot. It must have slid through the headboard.I had told Dale I was going to give it to him anyways,I knew he would appreciate it more than me.Then it disappeared until last week,when I cleaned some from under the bed. I hate losing a knife.I like the grinds on that clip,it's a heavy knife,although used.

Dale,here's my Camillus like yours.I think they are the same knife,yours is just a few years earlier.I'll keep looking,but no urgency,as our knives are almost duplicates,just a slight variation in the stamps. I guess they could be about the same age or yours could be 20 years older,depending on what year they were made in Goins time frames.
