All About Pocket Knives

A few years ago I bought and gave my friend a Sears 85414 model lockback knife. I liked it so I bought one too. He liked it too. He used it for almost everything and was very careful with it. But he loaned it to his wife who then cut up apples for a pie. The knife was not seen there after for several years until my friend cleaned his outside burn barrel. He found the knife at the bottom of the barrel. In the condition in the picture. He was upset about it. The other picture is the way it is supposed to look. I tried to put an edge on it but I think the temper is gone from it now. I may put scales on it when I get time. Just doesn't pay to loan anyone a knife. She evidently tossed it out with the apple peels into the burn barrel. She usually fed the apple peels to the squirrels. This one time tho she did not feed the squirrels. Oh well, it was an accident and she was a very nice girl.

Does anyone know who made this knife for Sears? I was thinking that Schrade made it at the time I bought it. Model 85414. I can't find anything on it anywhere.

I don't know for sure but to me those look like CAMILLUS made

knives!

Because the bolsters are straight, and not slanted...and because of the shape of the drop point blade, I don't believe Schrade made that particular knife. Maybe Camillus, or maybe Imperial (wood looks like Imperial, but possibly still made by Camillus for Imperial) seem like pretty good possibilities.

I think the model # should be 95414. There are others in sequence at LRV's site under Sears/Craftsman...

You are correct El Lobo , it is a "9" not and "8". I looked at it thru the magnifying glass just now. Should have done that in the first place. I also looked at the site but could not find it there. Thanks for the info.
