my first harness jack. shatt & morgan 1 of 75 golderoot. our own upnorth commissioned these and this one is superb.

i like a punch on a knife, it can really come in handy,and its even better when the knife looks like that.

Wow! Really like that one! I'm fond of the Schatt and Morgans and extra fond of their Goldenroot.

This may be a silly question (hasn't stopped me so far), but what might a punch (outside of making holes) be handy for?

I've been eyeing Harness Jacks and Scouts myself, but wondering "What the heck would I ever do with the punch?"

Of course, Schatt&Morgan Goldenroot desire has begun to outweigh practicality for me.

I like a pick on a knife also. I carried a Case Boy Scout knife for some years and used the pick for a lot of things. I even used it to poke a hole in my belt but I think that's what it is meant for?

I've used a punch for detail whittling. Soft wood, carefully!!
And to scrape a pipe bowl, when I smoked many years ago.

A fellow I've done business before came up with another HJ for me. YOU have probably done business with him too! He's one of the principles in GEC, and he's had Queen make several nicely thought out knives for him; Queen Classics among them.
This is a nice Schrade peachseed handled Jack, with a couple of minute specks, and unfortunately a little buffing (sigh).
But it's pretty near full bladed, and the bone is as good as it gets!

Holyoke made industrial belting I believe!

I go to work, but I daydream about this knife winging its way here!! Some of you have seen it elsewhere, but I had to bring a pic here to show it off!

Went and picked up my TBose HJ today! It's all I hoped it would be!
Tony Likes to see his knives used, so I decided I would in fact use this one, and here are the results of a trial run. It's a prototype knife, and I had my "gulps" but I am glad it is now near-mint instead of mint!! It sure feels good in the pocket!
I punched three different sized holes in some dried out 10 ounce latigo, and it cuts nice and round, with a little care. It should sail through nicely oiled saddle leather.
I cut the chunk of leather off in a blur; REALLY SHARP blade. Then the newspaper didn't have a chance. 'Tis a sweet knife!!
