A real gem here. Almost too sad for anyone to think it's real.

Bob, you're right, that one is a real prize winner.

That knife is right. Camillus made limited number of them for Case prior to their shutdown. I have owned several.

When did Camillus shut down? According to the tang stamp I think that is a 2002 blade in that? Wasn't Camillus long gone by then?

Camillus closed -2007.
I have seen that style knife marked Case before.

Thank to those for posting correct information. I apologize to all for my original post and ignorance on the subject. I'll resolve to do better in the coming year.

just bob, I've learned knife collecting is a learning process. I have learned from this post, don't think I've ever seen this particular pattern made by Case, usually they're Camillus stamped.

If anyone knows; I read that the backsprings were extremely brittle in most of the Camillus made ones, are the Case made knives any better? Thanks!

Red,
Camillus made these for Case, so I would guess they are the same...

It would be understandable to view that one as a "Frankenknife"...it is such an iconic military pattern associated with Camillus (though in the past other companies made them)...and very few were made for Case so not widely distributed.

Well Bob, I guess that one fooled both of us. I knew Camillus made some camp knives for Case but not any recently and not like that one (metal handles). Ain't AAPK great? Learn something new every day. Steve, thanks for setting me straight. ::tu:: As a collector of scout/camp knives I guess now I have to look for one of those! ::facepalm::
