Re-Handling Case Trapper

I have a newer Case trapper that works fine and is in like new condition--only it has no handle scales. The center pin and handle pins are in place also. My question--how best to attack the job of replacing the scales? Is there a neat way to do this without taking the knife apart. Should I try to leave the pins in place or clip them off. With all the great craftsmen on this forum, I would certainly heed all advice. Thanks.

easiest most surefire way is the just pull it apart, short of having patience, practice, and a stiddy

Don't do it Charlie!

Just kidding...but truthfully, once you start down that path, it is hard to stop.

Good luck!
