OK up north. I'm 49 so i'm almost an old fart But I have never owned a barlow in my life. My guess is 2nd one down...... blade just doesn't look right. As PA would say, Read the knife. Was I right?

In the mean time, getting orvet's thread back on track, here are a few more Barlows to ogle! I scanned these some time ago, to show a bunch of stamped bolsters. Some of you have seen the pic elsewhere, so please excuse the repitition!

Charlie, that is some collection! After seeing that it puts me right back in a mind to start searching for some again. I kind of strayed lately. You know, I wouldn't mind having just one vintage Russell and here you come with three!

Repetition, repetition???
Who cares about repetition when they are Barlows?

Here are some more of mine.
The Westmark are made by Camillus (according to SMKW). Due to the scanner it is hard to read the etch on the large one. It says "Ole Buck" & the smaller one says "Young Buck."

The Case stamp is very hard to read, but it says Case XX. I have no idea if it is original or not, maybe one of you Case folks can help me on that. I bought it because of the nice old bone handles & it wasn't expensive.

Keep them Barlows rollin' in!

ok, lets see.

Dale, that would be an original tested era case barlow, I have one, but it has been altered, yours is worn, but regardlesss it's original. I have three gandaddy barlows in peices for rebuilds, one of which I made from scratch, it's waiting on some SS to get here for bolsters. The other is a 1970's case, and the other is a camillus.

Now for my contribution to the thread.




I've got an old ulster somewhere in this pile, I'll see if I can find it and post it later today.

I love "Let's see..." threads.
Here's my one and only Barlow, a GrandDaddy (repro. of course), dated 1834 on the ricasso.
I read somewhere that the very first Barlows were single blade spearpoint, but I have to run that by AAPK before I believe it.

From what I can see, that's a real Tested XX, Dale. I think I have a couple you can compare it with,
