Schrade Cut Co Stockman restoration

Some time ago one of our members sent me a Schrade Cutlery Company Stockman that had celluloid handles and was beginning to off gas. I don't believe this knife had ever been used or sharpened but it did have some surface spotting on the spines of the blades.

The blades buffed up nicely and I replaced the celluloid with caramel colored RV jigged bone.
The RV jigging is the closest I have found to the Schrade peach seed jigged bone.

That looks mighty fine, Dale. ::tu:: ::tu:: If all Schrades looked like that I'd probably have a pile of them.

Oh wow, that came out great Dale! The bone is a nice compliment to the pattern and the knife looks like new!

Here is an original Jack Knife Shop that I think was made by Schrade Cut Co. The nail pull looks sharper, crisp cut.

The knife Dale restored was mine and I have now had a chance to show it around to some of the guys. They were all very impressed with the beauty of the knife and most of all, they loved the workmanship that went into this beauty.
It is a fine specimen and I have had a hard time putting it up. I even carried it to church yesterday and showed it off there. Nothing but raves. ::tu:: ::tu::
Great job Dale and many thanks.

Thank you Ray!
Such an old beauty was a joy to work on!

One of the fellows you showed the Schrade to at your knife club is sending me one of his knives for repair.
Thanks for the referral Ray! ::tu::
