Well it was a little wait and effort, but being patient payed off!

Here is the Great Eastern Cutlery Pioneer #23 that I got back yesterday to replace the bad one I sent in.

The pictures are a little rough, those mirror polished 440C blades were hard to shoot without reflections.

The sun also kept going behind some clouds and played heck with the lighting.

All in all, I am very happy with this replacement knife, fit and finish are great.

Looks GREAT!! ::tu:: The smooth white bone is my favorite....The one you replaced, was it also a smooth white bone?..if so,what were its problems?
Reason I'm asking is that I had noticed that the smooth bone knives seemed to have less issues..Now that the Primitive bone came out, that might not be the case.

Congratulations! My opinon of GEC continues to rise. I just got a Queen Mountain Man in 1095 and the GEC knives all beat the Queen Mountain Man, HANDS DOWN! I will post some pictures tonight and explain my opinion. Will make a good debate.

Yes, it was the same handles, but the first one was pretty scruffy looking,

1. The scrimshawed side was 2 starkly different colors.
2. One end had BAD buffing wheel marks in the bone.
3. Some of the pins stood up almost an 1/16th of an inch.
4. The back side had buffing marks on it.
5. At the base of the handle niiether side of the bone had been radiused and polished like the side, leaving sharp edges.

There were some bad scratches on the bolsters and both blades were pretty much butterknife dull!

The difference between it and this one is huge.

Looks really good Chris! ::tu:: ::tu:: Glad it worked out for you. I have 3 now and wouldn't take for them. I will be getting more. Looks like their QC has come around where it should be. Kelley
