Is there such a thing as a Queen knife show? I have a TL-29 Queen and just ordered a 58-60 dated #48 Winterbottom whittler. I'm getting hooked on Queens.
I'll try to do pics when my Whittler arrives ( I'm going to need help from my wife or daughter).

You just missed one this weekend in Wilmington Ohio.

The Queen collectors club has a show in the summer.They have factory tours in Titusville Pa.and have a show outside of Titusville.And as Jerry said Queen co-host a show called Knife days in Wilmington Ohio in October and April.

What is the deal on the Queen Collectors Club, cost, number of Queens owned?

Queen has committed to more knife shows. Seeing the date of your post I thought this was about the very recent show "Knife Days" in Wilmington, OH sponsored by Queen and Clarence Risner. I've heard it was very good, and they plan to do another one in late April 2015.

The traditional Queen show has been biennial and in late July (odd years), but last summer they added another to make it an annual show. I expect they will have another in July or August in 2015. I have had great luck with this show and a higher density of Queen knives than in other shows I have gotten to. Very friendly with a Friday picnic and a factory tour on Thursdays. (if you have a chance to take this tour jump on it! ancient building old tooling and lots of skilled cutlers talking directly to you.

Most people do not realize that the Queen Collector club is not connected in any way with the Queen Cutlery Company. Mike Sullivan is the principal for the Queen Collectors club (and he can be reached at a PA address found on how to order knives offline.< http://www.queencutlerycollectors.com/p ... rders.html>. There is no fee to join, and they have produced special edition club knives in prior years, but not so much in the last few years. ). They do offer some knives for sale, standard catalog items, but not a lot of special editions or newest knives. There is no requirement own Queen knives. There is also no newsletter, no meetings other than the Queen Knife show, or much other information on Queen knives or collecting on the site. In 2014, their website unfortunately failed to even announce their shift to annual for their own show. Still they have put on the Queen knife show in Titusviile or Pleasantville since 2000, so it is reasonable to hope that organization will continue to move with some of the more recent interest in Queen knives.

Over the past year, Queen Cutlery Company, along with offering a lot of new knives, has dramatically increased information for collectors. Their new "Historical documents" site is loaded and I think will continue to grow- <http://www.queencutlery.com/Historical_Documents.html >.

I'm going to keep on the look out for Queen knife shows in PA and OH, it would be a great weekend trip. My wife would always find something else to do,she could care less about knives.

You need to be careful taking your wife to the Queen show in Wilmington, there is an outlet mall about 15 or so miles up I-71 from there.It could get expensive.

Especially if our twin Grandaughters are with us.

There do not seem to be too many dedicated knife shows in PA.,although I have found some knife sellers at a number of gun shows two birds with one registration.

Here are some shows I have enjoyed in PA

Queen Show - Pleasantville generally late july I really like this show

Keystone Blade show Lewisburg, PA mid February. Not so big, but lots of knife makers and friendly setting. I have had good luck at this show

Easton, PA semi-annual I think. So far, too far for me to drive, but supposed to be a very good, big show and a ton of interesting things around to visit

Mason Dixon show in Hagerstown,MD late April. Just a few miles south of the border.

I have gotten the habit of checking Knife World - that is the best source for me.

Like most guys, I buy off Ebay, but a show is much better - you can handle the knife and judge condition much better, You see a ton of knives, and you can always learn a bit by talking with dealers. See knives you never knew of - new horizons. For me it also spreads out the purchases, so I can save up and try to negotiate a bargain more easily when I see something -- more sellers than buyers, usually...

My wife has been gracious and attended a few shows, but she walks fast and can only tolerate a certain amount - much like me dress shopping. we try to go with some forced fun on each trip.

The Easton, PA show is in September the last two years. Worth going to if you're in the area. Once a year as far as I know.

Last year at the Queen show I spoke with Mike, and he stated he's trying for the future to have the show right back in Titusville somewhere, as the Pleasantville building was becoming difficult to reserve and the staff were making it difficult. So the 2015 show may be moving this year, we'll hear more when it gets closer. Again, I assume it will be late July or early August. This is the alternate year, when GEC and Case should also be having their shows sometime during the summer. Lately, Mike and the other most experienced members of the Queen Collectors Club have been focusing on learning and explaining the history of the Queen knives made, and promoting that information on the Queen website. which has a huge wealth of knowledge about Queen knives. Primarily Fred Fisher's collection, and Dave Clark and Dan Lago's research has been used to gather all this information, in collaboration with the owners of Queen, the Daniels family.

I attend this show every year as a dealer. It doesn't always draw a huge crowd, some years are better than others. But seeing the other dealers is fun, the picnic is fun. I sold about 8-10 knives last year, which broke even with the expenses of the weekend.

When I attended the Easton knife show a few years back, it was smaller than I was expecting. Their was a nice turnout, but not much buying. I spoke with quite a few other dealers and they said everyone just wanted to hold the merchandise, and then put it back down and walked away. I haven't been to the Mason-Dixon show, but I spoke to the man that organizes it, and he said it seems to be growing each year with a larger and larger turnout, so that may be one I should try in the future. And the Wilmington, OH show is supposed to be the Clarence Risner show, but his health isn't the best lately, so Queen is going to headline that show for him for upcoming shows, which I believe is going to be every April and October.

Clarence has a son who is picking up the slack so maybe over time the Risners will continue to be a force as premier Queen/Schatt & Morgan retailers.

I didn't know he had a son. I hope you are right, and that Risner is a name we will continue to see in the knife business for years to come.

I recently purchased a knife from Clarence's web site and had a question. It was the son (or maybe grandson, I don't remember.) who responded. I wish I could find the emails we exchanged.

I bought my S&M Gunstock Pint from Risner. Can't say enough about the great customer service. They will be my first choice for my next Queen/S&M purchase.
