All About Pocket Knives

picked this up yesterday. Thought it was interesting. Marked Joseph Rogers and sons cutlers to her majesty. No country of origin (which would be sheffield area I'm sure). So this is pre 1900 since it has no country of origin right? When did companies have to start marking the country of origin, 1860 1880? I can't remember. Basically and approximite age, and value. If it isn't worth a whole lot I've got plans for it

Very interesting knife.

V crown R & Cutlers to Her majesty mean this is a Victorian era knife. She had a long reign (1837-1901) so quite a possible age range. I'm not familiar enough with that type of knife to identify stylistic clues.

Only knives imported into the US were required to have the country stamp in 1891 or there after. Knives made for the local UK market or the colonies were not required to have the country stamp. In short, the absence of a country mark is not very useful as a dating clue.

No idea re value but not a national treasure in my opinion.
