Tang stamp is 'Stainless Cutlery Co. New York City'.

As an interesting side note I've seen a disproportionate number of these Stainless Cutlery knives with broken back springs. These knives were an early endeavor in stainless component pocketknives and it took a while to get the tempering for the springs correct.
In spite of that they were very nice knives as seen in this posted example.

That knife was likely a "Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co."HARDWARE or RETAILER BRAND 1924 to 1940. You can tell that from the ss shield.
