All About Pocket Knives

I promise I search a good bit before I bug you guys. Here is a bulldog I received as a gift. Fine looking knife. The blades look like nice 1 st gen blades. The jigging looks more like 1st gen than the straight row 2nd gen and 3rd gen and some of the 4th gen with straight row jigging. But the bone is way lighter than I have seen. Also, I own mostly stag and don't have any of the dog head shields on the 1st gens I have. Nor any I have found pics of. So that makes me think maybe it was a recent assembly like the vault knives maybe? Honestly don't know. The liners look good. There isn't a lot of open/shut marks on the blades near the tang which also make me think newer 2000 range. Thanks.

I don't mind answering your questions. What you have is a 2nd generation trapper made from the leftover parts from the 1st generation Old Dominion 3 blade trappers. These were made in several different handle materials mostly in 60 pieces or so each. These are good quality knives that Jim Parker had made after he acquired the bulldog trademark around 1991. Nice knife, typical of 2nd generation bone.
