Hi, does anyone know when Buck started cuting the nail nick in the 110, instead of pressing the tiny nick in when the blade was made. Thanks George God bless

I think it was around the time they stopped using 440c for the softer stuff they use today. Just a guess on my part. 1970s

Hi,
no they went to 425m in 1981 when they started blanking the blades, the version 3 variation 3 uses both blades, small nail nick and large ,so it must have happened around then, the small nick looks like it's pressed out when the blade is made, the large nick looks like it is machined, it's a mystrery to me how many different variations they made a year, they got about 9 different variations in over a 3 or 4 year period, also something strange is the version 3 used 420C, but you will find a pitted one. George God bless
