All About Pocket Knives

Hello Folks,

I have been away on an important mission, I am still on it and got to see it through. This one may take some time.

Thought I would take a few "Mental Health" Days and play with some cutlery and stop by and visit. I dug out one or two and have one I would like to find some info on. I hope to have them on within the next couple of days.
Y'all being doing a good job holding down The Fort.

I thought some of you "Coon" or Tennessee knife lovers (and Ken) may like to see one of these. It is a BOB WHITE.

I have never seen one here on AAPK before.
If my memory is correct these were made by Queen, they all have the "Quail" tang stamp and some have the Bob White etch. The yellow scales/handles appear to be yellow composite, not celluloid on this one.

BL#4Rev. sezs 1978 manufacture, but for some reason I want to think it was earlier. I had the history years ago, but cannot remember, find or locate now. Voyles, Swanner and others were having knives make by Queen then IIRC, but not sure of the years.

Does anybody remember/seen the Voyles "Teddy Bear" special? LOL That is another good tale, I have heard it from him myself but cannot remember dates, names, etc.

BTW: Pool is Open, temp is running 72-78F. Table is covered with paperwork & knives, so it is Closed. Boss sezs "Hey"

That is the first time seeing one of them too.
But then each time I pay one of my VCR moves it to is the first time I watch it...
Not all that bad cuz I get a new move that I never seen every time I push it in...

I've never seen a Bob White before, fantastic seeing something new from Queen. I wonder how many years they were made. Thanks for sharing..

Oh yeah, I am fixing to jump in the old pool myself, temps around 82 degrees..

Thanks Folks.......I miss posting here, but cannot keep up. Life is too short. Every now and then there is a little ripple that comes along and throws the plan off.
That is why they make 15 year old scotch whiskey also.
I like it with club soda on the rocks, kind of a scotch cola.

I believe these knives were only made for one or two years, there was a guy here having them made, but I cannot remember his name. I picked this one up in a flea market in Chattanooga back in the 70's is all I remember. Daddy would buy them by the box , these and "Old Hickory's", which I believe were made by Queen also.
I have not searched eRip in awhile for them, but at that time they were rare to find there. Even some of the older Folks around here never heard of or seen them.

Some that would not know, could past one up thinking it was China made if you think about it. The Quail is the only stamp. This pattern and a Trapper are the only one's I know of.

Sunburst; I have not been in the water yet, may try it tonight near dark. That water feels alot warmer when the air temp drops to about 60 degrees. She's nice and clear, I was pleased when I opened it up this year.
