Here's an old knife I got recently. Wilbert Cutlery Co.
The seller suggested it was made by Napanoch. Anybody have any thoughts on this?
Shown next to an old toe for size comparison. It's 5 5/16" closed.

Beautiful knife, the toe, too.
Without turning to the reference books, I agree that some Wilbert branded knives were made by Napanoch.
You need to have someone look at your oil pan, you're leaking major amounts of engine oil onto your driveway, seems like.

Charlie's right, and the Wilbert farmers jack I have is the heaviest per size knife like it.It is well worn too.

Rhett Stidham lists Wilbert Cutlery Company as one of the companies that Napanoch made knives for in his Napanoch catalog/pamphlet. I agree, couple of nice patterns there! I have the banana knife by Napanoch.

Beautiful knives! The only Wilbert knife I own is an ebony scaled coke bottle.

Thanks guys.
Charlie, the oil is from the knives. They were in a little puddle and the oil just kept flowing. Thanks.
Obsidian Edge, mine is a banana knife also, but sure takes second fiddle to your beauty. Except for the placement of the nail nick and scales it sure looks like your Napanoch. EDIT: OK you've got 1 more pin.
Knife7knut, that is a beautiful knife.
Dimitri, help me. What points to Valley Forge/Boker? Scales? .... If it's a Boker, that would be fine with me.
I'm just glad to have the thing.

The VF/Boker made knives have 4 grooves on the front bolster, the Napanoch`s have 5 grooves and the spacing is closer together and as you mentioned the bone handles and an extra pin in the handle on the Nap.

Reviving a dead post here. But hoping to get some experienced opinions. I have a Valley Forge that I just picked up. Everything is correct as far as pins, bone, grind lines, and lines on the bolsters. But the stamp is questionable to me. Can anyone give me some insight here? Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the post Dilbery91.
I regret I don't have an opinion on your knife.
Some learned viewer will offer some insight.
It is a beautiful knife, for sure, and it sure brightens up this thread.
Stay tuned.

Thanks Joe! I love the knife. And I truly believe what I have is a knife that has been heavily cleaned and restamped. It’s unfortunate. But everything else checks out on it. Just not the stamp. Oh well. That will teach me to buy from auctions! LOL- Dalton

Scrounging around I found this very nice Wilbert Cutlery Co., Chicago, swell center hunter.
It's not a bad knife. 5 3/16" closed.

You might find some info in a Valley Forge thread, instead of this Wilbert thread.
viewtopic.php?p=860060&hilit=Valley+Forge#p860060 Or post it and ask about it there.
