I finally got a Camillus display.
The display came from David Anthony (PA Knives).
Thank you David, I am really pleased with the display!
These are cell phone pics and not the best.
Will try and get better pics later.
This is the top shelf removed for pics.
I just stuck a bunch of old bone handled Camillus knives in this display.
I think they look bettrer than new Delrin knives would look in it.

That's an old one Dale I seen it but just didn't have the funds to make an offer on it I do know it's older than either of mine--nice score

--there's an old post that has a file attachment that will help you get a time frame on it's age

Dale,
Nice!
I cant find it in any of the Camillus catalogs. Do you have an idea of its age or when it was used?

I am not sure when it was made.
I would thing it was probably made before WWII.
If not before, then I think it was made shortly after the war.

........dale, I have one of these that I have had several years. had to rebuild and refinish it and repaint all the lettering on it. mine has a hinged board for mounting the knives on that parallels the glass front. I will get some pictures of it next week for you. I remember one in the tupelo hdwe. store when I was kid back in the '40's-never went in there with my granddad that he didn't stop at that display to see if they had something new in it!!...............

Thanks Tommy, I will look for the pics.
I do need to do some work on this and try to restore the display as best as I can.
I just need to get the time to do it.
I am looking forward to the pics, thanks!

I love old knife displays and have a few of them. Most don;t show off my really good knives, they are in a larger display system. But here are a couple of cams to show off. The one with bent glass is the first post WW2 display that Camillus sent off to their dealers. Found, pretty well gutted, but in excellent shape overall, in an old hardware store. Just filled with silly keepsake junk. The other one has a clever way of opening up to retrieve the knives, or to access the storage part. Filled with very cheap toothpicks, once again, have a better place to put my good ones.
A word on the NASCAR bank. It's Shirley Blakley's car, sponsered by Ramses condoms. NASCAR had a fit about a woman driver at that time, and declared Ramses as unwelcome in the NASCAR family. Of course a few years later, they had no problem with a male driver piloting a car financed courtesy of Viagra. I don't give a damn about NASCAR myself, but I love an underdog.

Here are pictures Tommy (carrmillus) sent me of his Camillus display.
I will let him explain them.
These are scans of the photograph Tommy took. Photos do not scan really well, the colors change and while the photos are clear, they loose a lot of that clarity when they are blown up. But at least you can get a good idea of what his display looks like.
This pic is of the Tupelo Hardware store where his display came from.
I will let Tommy do the explaining.
It is all yours Tommy….

...first picture is all my older Camillus knives...second photo is all whittlers....3rd-10th photos are of the Camillus display cabinet I bought several years ago, the display board was missing, had to re-letter all the lettering on it, but it turned out pretty nice. the 11th photo is of the interior of tupelo hdwe. co. taken in the 1940's where they had one of these displays, just to the left of the gumball machine. I used to go in there with my grandfather and he would never leave without going to that display and checking to see what was new. I got my love for Camillus brand knives from him!!....he gave me the first 2 I ever owned when I was a kid!!!...

carrmilus, that is a great display, but I think the photo of the hardware is just as good to have. I like the little 'extras' some of us make as part of our collections.
