All About Pocket Knives

Hello, I'm a new member and this is my first knife entered into discussion. Looking forward to getting some answers relating to some knives I have. This one I found in my fathers belongings after his passing a few years ago. I don't think it is that old and have looked at different times on ebay and such and even on the Scharade site and have found nothing. The long/short blade has me stumped on this frame. Can anyone tell me what the actual description is and how old it might be. I really like the knife and I finally got a good edge back on it.

The knife could be a fish knife but it has not got a fish scaler or it could be a toothpick(I see it called a ticker in one book )Most toothpicks have one blade.If I am wrong I hope someone corrects me.

Your knife was made from 1956-1988, nice color I have never seen one with that color. I also have never seen one with a pen blade like that? When you open the pen blade all the way open does it have a good fit with springs? There is usually pat# somewhere on the blades it should start with a 2. Welcome to aapk 0078 or Greg

Imperial made a few of these. Technically they're not fish knives, but rather a 2-blade toothpick. They're a throwback pattern from the early days when Imperial still made knives with solid bolsters. I have 2 or 3 with the pen blade and a few others with different colored striped handles. The pen blade version is a lot less common then the other versions, but they do show up from time to time.

Go down to page 18 that is your knife

I think the OP knife is a full size(4-1/4") model. Those on page 18 are mini's or Jr.'s, only 2-9/16" long.
But I may be wrong.

Thank you all for this information and the 'welcomes' also. Greg it has great springs and solid. Measures 7 9/16" open and 4 1/4" closed. Blue/Silver and I have never seen this combo before either. I only saw 'Imperial Prov R I' on the tang but will look again. I will check out the other information passed onto me also. I see I might have posted this wrong originally. Please tell me the proper way to post as I have other knives in question also.

That blue strip pattern does come up, but not too often. If in great condition (handles), they are fairly desirable to Imperial collectors, maybe even more so in that blade configuration.

I checked the tang and sure enough it matched the 56-88 cira. Appreciate all the input.
