Whittlers?

I just ordered my first GEC knife, a #26 sleeve board with a wharncliffe blade. The #57 Geppetto Whittlers have caught my eye also but I'm waiting to get my #26 first to see what I think. Does anyone have either of these models and use them for whittling/woodcarving? Thanks.

I've

handled the Sleeveboard and is a great pattern, anything from GEC is of best quality! You might want to check out the 57 or the 62, cant go wrong with carbon steel!

Greetings Mad Trapper! Great screen name and avatar, love it! I see you are from Minnesota...We are neighbors, I'm in Wisconsin myself. Not a trapper, but I am a lifelong hunter and woodswalker...Welcome to AAPK!
I have a #26 sleeveboard with a spear main and coping secondary...It is a great knife, built like a little tank and extremely pocket friendly...
I also have a #57 Half Whittler...another great knife, slightly bigger than the #26 but still very pocket friendly...a nice feature of the #57 is that there is barely any tang exposed when the knife is closed, so it won't tear up your pocket.
Unfortunately I haven't done any whittling with either of these knives, so I can't give you much info on that...although I have sharpened up a bunch of pencils for my daughter with the #57 and it made quick work of that task.

Thanks for the warm welcome and great pics. I'm fearful that once I get that 1st GEC knife in my hand that I'll have another knife addiction that I'll need to attend to. Just what I need... Thanks again. MadTrapper

geppetto patterns are very strong 3 backspring models. great quality in a heavy duty cutter, certainly a little heavy for dress slacks. HiPower
