Picked this up at a pawn shop the other day for $10.Wondering if it is a USA made Gerber or an offshore model. No ID marks as to model.Looks like a decent knife;any ideas? I'm not really into tactical knives per se but thought this one wasn't too bad.

I don't know Ray, I have not seen that one.
If I had to guess I would think Off-shore.

I did checking in a 2011 catalog, and found the Gerber Icon Tanto.
gerberknivesdirect.com lists it as:

Introducing the new Gerber Icon Tanto Blade. The Icon is a large, strong tactical folder. This tactical folding knife offers one-handed opening and a liner lock design for easy use. The Aluminum handles have large textured inlays for extra grip. Get a new Icon Tanto Blade today at Gerber Knives Direct.

Walmart.com is out of stock but they say:

Judging from the above info, I would say definitely made off-shore

OK;what am I looking for that would verify that it is in fact not produced for or by Gerber? Seems that it wouldn't be economically feasible to fake a knife that retails for $50 or less.

I don't think so either Phillip. It has Gerber's new tang stamp on it and here's the knife on Gerber's web site. Same knife. I do however agree with Dale that it's most likely made off shore. You would need to message Gerber to find out for sure.

It is a Gerber, sorta. It's Gerber/Fiskars, you know, the folks that should stick to making pruning shears and lopers. I have a knife of similar construction with a clip blade and the full sword in stone TM. It is a discontinued peice and I got it from SMKW so I know it's real, $4.00. It' isn't a POS, but close.
