All About Pocket Knives

I've had this knife for a while, always looking for comparables in order to try to identify it but so far, no luck. It looks vaguely French to me but I have no real evidence for that.

Here is some other information that may aid identification. First, the knife has an extremely thick spring (3/16" +/-). Secondly, the fit between the blade and the liners is absolutely tight, the blade seems to fit against the liners almost air tight when closed. The liners themselves look very thick when the knife is closed, however, when the knife is opened you can see that the liners actually have a flange. There is a hole in the spring at the end whose purpose I can't determine, maybe it was used in the manufacturing process? The handle material is, I believe, a synthetic, however, I'm not really sure. Notice the oddly formed kick. The blade itself seems to be concave ground. Finally, the oddly pointed bolsters are hollow, I believe.

I'd like to get opinions (or better certain knowledge) on its origins:

The knife is unique in every way from the bolster to the pins to the way the liners encroach on the beautiful blade, not to mention the kick which to me says old European.
How long is it?

The knife is 4 5/16" closed and 7 3/4" open. It would be a little shorter closed except for the pointed bolsters. The knife has one other unusual construction feature. When the knife is closed the tang and backspring are absolutely flush (there is a term for this type of construction that escapes me at the present). The knife has a very strong half stop and snap both ways.

Do you have any idea when or where her father got it? It does seem to be made by the same man. I have to say I envy you (or I guess Dimitri) the shackle though.

I would love to see more if you have them, both those knives are awesome. I was thinking of how the liners flange over and it seems like it would help to keep dirt and dust out. The stag on the second looks great. Was there a makers mark of stamp on it?

Thanks, I really like the construction of these knives. Unfortunately there is no makers mark on any that I have ever seen. The stag on this and others I have seen is really nice stuff

Is there a name for this style of knife, or particular country of origin? I guess I’m asking what do you call it?

At 5" closed I would call it a folding hunting knife.

Unfortunately there is no documentation as to where these were originally made, but I am working on it
