Over on another forum there showing them off Any one on AAPK have one they want to show off? I have one my kids gut me for Christmas.

I dont have one, but that is one awsome display. Must be proud of the kids for picking out a gift like that for you.

Dogg, I've been looking around at them - saw one at Walmart today for $37.95, but it has a nylon sheath. Dick's and Gander locally has the same knife with a leather sheath for $39.95, but haven't gotten the 50th marked version in yet. I'm going to check the PX and the Gander in Fayetteville when I go to Fort Bragg on Thursday. I don't have one yet, but I've been looking! OH

Ps Neither of what I've seen are like yours, these are normal knives with a bronze, rectangular emblem inlay in the wood grips.

OH the one I have is exclucive to Smokey Mountain Knife Works for the year of conception. No one else will have this version.Oh yea Buck makes about four differant versions Bladeforums has a big thread on the 50th annaversary lot of guy over there carry big lock-backs lots of workingmans knives

Dogg, I figured I had better go ahead and grab one before I mess around and they are all gone. I also discovered that the other chain stores have the knives packaged with nylon sheaths. After some sheath discussion on another Buck forum I decided that these sheaths are pretty well made nylon (not like the flimsy nylon sheath I got in the 2005 Commemorative set) - in fact I think the leather only comes in the box that the knife dealers get, and not in the clamshell packages. At any rate here is my new Buck 110 50th Anniversary knife (a plain, understated style). OH

Dogg, I came across this 50th Anniversary Buck 110 yesterday afternoon at a sporting goods store in Jacksonville NC. Based on what I have learned on the other Buck Forum (at Blade Forums) there are NUMEROUS variations of the 50th Anniversary edition being made by Buck (yours was the first SFO, then there are six by Buck in retail outlets, then there is a bunch of Custom Shop editions and there are BCCI editions yet to come out. This knife is actually the second one made by Buck (no "BUCK" name anywhere on the knife). The first one I bought is actually the third edition. I'm not going to try to get all (or even most) of them - if I find one in stock somewhere that I don't have, then I'll buy it, otherwise this may be the last one. OH

Ps the fit and finish on these knives rivals the ones from days of old - as good as any I've ever seen - glad they are back to their former glory on quality.

PPs Unfortunately no beard to show - at this point the turkeys are all better at staying alive than I have been at shooting one of them!

Dogg, Here are my two displayed next to each other - the only difference is the tang stamp. By the way, both came with the same black nylon sheaths and were packed in the same type of blister package (one came from Wal-Mart, the other came from Dick's). The coded number on the package (along the bar code) was different, but that was the only difference I could tell between the two packages. I guess leather sheaths must now be reserved for custom shop knives (what sheath did your SMKW edition come with?) OH

Buck must package each chain's knives to their specs - that is the exact same package my two came in, but with the nylon sheaths. What city is the Menard's in? We don't have Menard's down here - just Lowe's and Home Depot. OH

I went back to Menards to get another 50th anniversary 110. Same knife same leather sheath only today it was only $32.99. It was the last one.

Hi, The nylon sheath is made in the U.S.A. , I noticed the new leather Buck sheath is made in Mexico.

I noticed that also, so I checked the leather sheath that came with my 110 that was manufactured in 2007. It was made in Mexico too.

The country of manufacturing on the sheath is another variation - both of the nylon sheaths that came with my 50th anniversary knives (one from Wal-Mart, one from Dick's) were made in China - and are dated 6/13. OH

To me, I've always considered it the Kmart/Wal-Mart of home improvement centers.

I am so suggestive, it's just down right pathetic. I've never had a yearning for a Buck 110 but after seeing edge213's post about the good deal at Menards, I stopped while out today and picked up one of the 50th Anniversary 110s (w/leather sheath).

Youse guys is a baaad influence.
