All About Pocket Knives

This came in recently. Really liked the condition and the red handles. Nice size pen knife too, easy to carry in the pocket. It isn't etched with anything on the blade but I assume this is the No. 14 Peanut.

Steve, here's my little Queen with a cracked plastic Winterbottom covers and a crusty bolster and some rust on the tang stamp.
The back of the blades don't run up to the springs very well at all. I didn't realize what sad shape this thing was in 'till now.
It's 2 7/8", 1/2 stops and good action though. Oh well.
We sure have different nail nick placement and much different stamps. I like the looks of yours better.

Your no. 14 has a more traditional looking clip point than mine, I believe mine is a California clip. Same pen blade on both it looks like. This one is snappy as heck with half stops as yours does yours. Mine measures 2.75 inches OAL.

Different main blades equals more variations=more knives.

Its a newer version of the #14 peanut, made in the last 15 years

Not new, but new to me. Older Queen 1/2 Congress and loving the quality and workings of these older US knives. like it better than some of my new Queens.

One more recently new to me. Love this knife more and more like I can't even tell you.

One more just got here this week. Bought knives for years but never Queen until this summer. My first Queen was the Red Keystone Whittler with the Sheep Foot above. That's the one that sucked me in and did it to me. Now several Queens later this is my latest and I know it won't be the last either. %#^~!!!! the addiction.

hi: here are a couple #28 English jacks. they both have winter bottom bone handles. the light in the pic is bad, but the lower one has a lighter color than the upper one. both are form 1958-60.

Great Winterbottom, and love the age. Nothing like a new knife that's 50+ years old and works like a new one. Great snags, both.

On originally posted little red knife, I see the bottom bolster turning away from blade a bit, more like a "reverse peanut , #17 than a 14. I thought peanuts were more like 3.25", so I am quizzical. Pretty red delrin scales make it seem like in 1970s...Thanks for posting.

I'm not too sure what you're talking about but p-nuts are sub-3".

You are right. I see the 14 etch in one picture... I have been more focused on bigger knives and just bought pair of #17s in abalone- seeing them everywhere. Thanks for correcting.

Here is a recently made Queen knife; #65 Baby Sunfish Schatt & Morgan Keystone series, blade has an etch with: "Custom Shop Made". Handles are mammoth ivory.
It's very well made, no issues what-so-ever which is encouraging as Queen has been trying to improve quality and this one needs no improvement.
It's a hefty solid knife quite capable of real work as well as being 'gentlemamly'.
